The much-anticipated sequel to Awarapan, titled Awarapan 2, will reportedly be released in August 2026.

The movie featuring Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani has been trending on BookMyShow and Instagram with a previous release date of April 3.

However, according to Bollywood Hungama's report, the makers have now locked a new release date.

An insider told the portal, "Awarapan 2 has shaped up well as a musical, intense love story with Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani."

The source added, "The makers were considering several release dates, and have finally decided on Independence Day weekend."

The film is currently in production and is expected to wrap up by the end of April.

After two months of post-production work, it will come out during the holiday period of Independence Day.

Original 'Awarapan' has become a cult classic

The original film, Awarapan, has achieved cult status over the years with its songs becoming evergreen favorites among cinema-goers.

The makers have reportedly recreated two songs from the original album, which are expected to be major highlights of Awarapan 2.
