Bidar: A woman was seriously injured after a car driven by a police constable ran over her while she was sweeping garbage on a roadside in Bhalki town.

The injured has been identified as Jnanabai (45), a resident of Bhalki. The incident occurred when she was cleaning the street, and a car driven by Umakant, a police constable attached to Mehkar Police Station, allegedly hit her at high speed.

Jnanabai sustained severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

A case has been registered at the Bhalki Town Police Station.

CCTV footage of the accident, which also shows a child crying at the scene, has surfaced.
