Sunrisers Hyderabad’s star opener gave a fast start to the team by playing a explosive innings against Kolkata Knight Riders. Abhishek scored 48 runs in just 21 balls, which included 4 fours and 4 sixes.

However, despite this brilliant performance, Abhishek Sharma had to face problems outside the field. His aggressive behavior and use of abusive language during the match was recorded by the stump mic. Due to this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) found him guilty of violating Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

BCCI decided that 25 percent of Abhishek’s match fee for this match will be deducted. According to the rules, every player included in the playing-11 gets Rs 7.5 lakh for a match. On this basis, Abhishek’s salary of Rs 1,87,500 was deducted and only Rs 5,62,500 will come to his account. Along with this, he also received one level-1 demerit point, and if four demerit points, the player can be banned for at least one match.

The end of Abhishek’s innings was also controversial. Varun Chakravarthy took his catch, which looked like the ball had hit the ground, but the third umpire considered it a valid catch. Abhishek expressed his displeasure on this decision on the field.
