Hyderabad: A total of 17,957 building and layout permissions were granted by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) through the “BuildNow” portal in the 2025–26 financial year. During this period, 2,427 occupancy certificates were also issued.
Out of the total 15,536 building permissions granted, 12,014 were issued under the instant approval category, 2,515 under the single-window system and 972 under instant registration.
Revenue generated through building permissions and occupancy certificates amounted to Rs 1,172.08 crore, marking an increase compared to Rs 1,138.44 crore collected in the previous year.
Out of the revenue generated, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) collected Rs 538.09 crore, the GHMC collected Rs 436.47 crore and the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) collected Rs 198.24 crore.
The “Build Now” portal was officially launched by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in March 2025. The applications were scrutinized and permissions were subsequently granted under three distinct mechanisms called instant registration, instant approval and the single-window system.
The GHMC stated that the permissions process has been accelerated and transparency has increased through the BuildNow portal.
