New Delhi: Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has won the Premier League Player of the Month award for March to equal former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of six. The midfielder won the award after delivering sensational performances for the Red Devils, scoring two goals and four assists in just four games.
Fernandes is now just one award away from equalling Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah’s record of most Player of the Month awards. The midfielder has won more Player of the Month awards than any other player since making his Premier League debut in 2020.

The Man United captain scored and assisted in the club’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace. He then provided an assist in Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat against Newcastle United. Fernandes assisted twice in the club’s 3-1 victory against Aston Villa and scored from the penalty spot in a 2-2 draw against AFC Bournemouth in March.
He took his Premier League assist tally to 16 in the ongoing season, surpassing the club record previously held by David Beckham, who provided 15 in the 1999/2000 season. Fernandes needs just four assists to match the Premier League’s all-time record of 20, which was set by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in the 2002/03 season.
Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne equalled that record in 2019/20. He is the second Manchester United player to have won the award in the ongoing season, after Bryan Mbeumo in October 2025. Manchester United are currently placed third in the Premier League standings and will face Leeds United next on April 13.
