Chennai: The Punjab Kings captain said that we have decided in the dressing room that no matter what happens, we will play a brand of cricket which will impress each other and not people outside. In the seventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Punjab Kings have successfully chased the target of more than 200 runs for the ninth time. This is the most feat achieved by any team in this tournament and they have reached this point with a five-wicket win against Chennai Super Kings.

After winning the match, Shreyas said, “We have decided in the dressing room that no matter what happens, we will play a brand of cricket which will impress each other and not the people outside. This gives us a lot of clarity when we play matches. Generally, it is the people inside the dressing room who have to be challenged and not the people outside.”

He said, “I am happy that everyone got a chance to bat in the first two matches. This also increases the confidence of the team a lot. Whenever we are in a pressure situation, people know how to deal with it. I think the pitch was good for batting, but we had a good start with 25 runs in three overs. Suddenly they started gaining momentum from there. But the important thing was that we remained calm. Along with this, the over rate was also like this. That’s something we have to keep in mind because if we have five fielders in the last two overs, we have to bowl on the same line and that’s the only thing we have to focus on.”
