Actress Zhang Yuqi lost her temper during a recent livestream sales session after viewers repeatedly placed items in their carts without completing payment, instead asking questions about her private life.

Chinese media outlet Theirs reported on Thursday that Zhang publicly criticized viewers after becoming visibly frustrated during the broadcast.Throughout the livestream, she promoted products while highlighting after-sales benefits such as returns and free shipping.

However, many viewers did not follow through with purchases and instead flooded the comments with questions about her personal life. Some added items to their carts but did not complete payment. Zhang repeatedly urged them to check out, but to no avail, eventually losing her composure.

At one point, a staff member suggested she remain calm and give viewers more time to complete their purchases. Zhang responded bluntly: “Give them what time? What are you talking about? They won’t even pay.”

“I’m already very angry,” she continued. “They’re not listening to me. Then go buy expensive things. I don’t care about you anymore.”

A video of the incident quickly spread across social media, drawing mixed reactions. Some users also raised concerns about pricing transparency after one viewer claimed that a product listed at 169 yuan (US$24.55) increased to 199 yuan at checkout, prompting questions about whether prices had been altered.

Zhang’s personal life has come under renewed scrutiny. In January, Ge Xiaoqian, the ex-wife of Zhang’s former husband Yuan Bayuan, said she filed a complaint accusing the actress of using surrogacy services in 2016. Surrogacy “in any form” is banned in China, according to the South China Morning Post.

Ge also alleged that Zhang was involved with Yuan before their divorce, stating that she had submitted photos and videos as evidence of interference.

Now 39, Zhang is best known for her roles in Stephen Chow’s films “CJ7” and “The Mermaid.” In recent years, she has primarily appeared on reality television shows.

Zhang has been married twice. She wed director Wang Quan’an in 2011 and divorced him in 2015 following his prostitution scandal. She later married Yuan Bayuan in 2016, and the couple divorced in 2018.
