Manipal: Young man dies by suicide

Manipal: Manjunatha Adiga (31), a resident near Saralabettu Shivapadi Shri Umamaheshwara Temple, reportedly died by suicide. The adopted son of retired bank employee Ramesh Adiga, he worked as a rickshaw and car driver.

It is alleged that he struggled with severe alcohol addiction and frequently quarreled with his elderly parents. Following an argument on the night of April 3, he was found hanging in the house sit-out.

Despite being rushed to a private hospital in Manipal with the help of locals, he failed to respond to treatment and passed away. A case has been registered at the Manipal police station.

Unidentified man passes away

An unidentified man who was found collapsed and ill near the Indrali Railway Police Station rickshaw stand on February 27 passed away on April 2.

Following information provided by an RPF officer from the Indrali Railway Police Station, social activist Nityananda Olakadu had admitted the man to the district hospital. However, the man succumbed to his condition without responding to treatment.
