Bengaluru: The process of identifying and deporting illegal Bangladeshi immigrants residing in Bengaluru has intensified, with a total of 272 individuals, including 178 men and 94 women, deported so far. The immigrants were escorted under high security to the Tripura border.

Upon reaching the border, they were handed over to security forces to facilitate their crossing back into Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have successfully dismantled a trafficking network by arresting two agents responsible for bringing Bangladeshi nationals into India.

Investigations revealed a coordinated operation where one agent would bring the individuals to the Indian border, while another would illegally facilitate their entry. Once inside India, the agents provided them with basic local language training and prepared forged identity cards to help them blend in.

These immigrants were then funneled into various sectors across the country, including Bengaluru, where they found employment in hotels, garages, and construction sites. The CCB is currently interrogating the two arrested agents to gather more information about the wider network and other individuals involved in this illegal racket.
