RRB Technician New Recruitment 2026: There is great news for candidates preparing to secure a government job in the Railways. The RRB has received approval from the Ministry of Railways for yet another new recruitment drive. The path has now been cleared for the recruitment of 6,565 Technician posts in 2026. The Ministry of Railways has granted its approval to the Railway Recruitment Board for this recruitment process. The recruitment notification will be issued shortly, and work regarding this process is set to commence immediately.

In this regard, the Railway Board has directed all Zonal Railways and Units to submit details of the sanctioned vacancies within their respective jurisdictions to the Online Indent and Recruitment Management System (OIRMS) within one week. This is to ensure that work on the Central Employment Notification can begin promptly. The RRB Bengaluru will provide support for this recruitment drive. During this recruitment cycle, backlog vacancies will also be filled alongside the currently vacant posts. A single consolidated notification will be issued, covering both general category posts and posts reserved for candidates with disabilities.

What are the eligibility criteria to become an RRB Railway Technician?
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech degree, an Engineering Diploma, or a B.Sc. degree from a recognized university. For the post of Technician Grade-III (Open Line, Workshop, and PU), candidates must have passed Class 10 along with an ITI certificate in the relevant trade. Alternatively, they may have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). This information regarding eligibility criteria is provided based on previous recruitment notifications.
