He said the people of the state are "fed up" with the misgovernance of the Trinamool Congress government and want change, adding that support for the party is growing across Bengal.
After reaching Jhargram, Pradhan reiterated his party's confidence and said that the current political environment indicates the formation of a "double-engine" government in the state.
Speaking to the media, Pradhan said, "Bengal is gradually going out of constitutional control. Chief Minister Mamata, who is currently handling the responsibility of governance, no longer has any agenda to give good governance to the people. This method of governance, which depends on spreading fear and terror in different sections of the society and intimidating the public, is against the Constitution."
The Union Minister referred to a recent incident in Malda district, where judicial officers deployed for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists were allegedly surrounded and attacked by a mob, calling it an “example” of deteriorating law and order.
He said that the kind of incident that happened in Malda. This is a great example of that. The situation became so bad that the Supreme Court had to give a statement and the army had to be deployed. This does not happen in any state where law and order is good. The people of Bengal are not safe under Mamata Banerjee's rule.
Pradhan further said that in the last ten years, BJP has become a major political force in West Bengal, which shows its performance in the last elections.
He said, "BJP has won many Lok Sabha seats in the state. It had also emerged as the main opposition party in the last assembly term. This time, the people of Bengal have decided to form a double engine government in the state."
