When was the RO/ARO Recruitment Examination Held?
The preliminary examination for the UPPSC RO/ARO recruitment was initially conducted on February 11, 2024; however, a major uproar ensued on the very day of the exam due to a paper leak. The answer key for the question paper was widely circulated across social media platforms. Following this, candidates staged protests outside the examination centers to voice their opposition against the paper leak. Subsequently, on February 12, the UPPSC recommended that the Special Task Force (STF) investigate the matter.
Examination Cancelled Following Investigation
To investigate the allegations of a paper leak raised by the candidates, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission also constituted a three-member committee. This matter subsequently escalated to such an extent that the State Chief Minister had to intervene; he directed Devesh Chaturvedi, the Additional Chief Secretary (Appointments and Personnel), to investigate the irregularities. An inquiry was subsequently conducted, and on March 2, 2024, the examination was cancelled.
