'Train the Trainer' program successful at Isha Yoga Centre, 99 Army and Navy soldiers learned 'Hatha Yoga'

The 15-day 'Train the Trainer' program of 'Classical Hatha Yoga' organized for Indian Army and Navy personnel at Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore concluded today. A total of 99 soldiers were involved in this training, out of which 78 were from the Navy and 21 from the Army. These soldiers have now become 'trainers'. This means that they will go back to their respective centers and teach yoga to other fellow soldiers also.

In fact, in this training which ran from 23 March to 6 April, he learned ancient and powerful yoga exercises like 'Up Yoga', 'Surya Kriya' and 'Inner Engineering Online'. The objective of this initiative is to provide mental peace, internal balance and physical strength to the soldiers, so that they can perform the responsibility of protecting the country in a better way.

What did the soldiers say?

Officials participating in this program said that this training gave them an opportunity to understand yoga as an 'inner strength'. This increases body strength, mental clarity and control over emotions. Captain Shrikant Joshi of the Indian Navy, while sharing his experience, said that this Hatha Yoga course has three major benefits, physical strength, peace of mind and deep understanding of oneself. When we are calm from within, we do not panic even in difficult situations and are able to take better decisions despite pressure. He also told that now these officers will be able to go to their respective units and give this training to other soldiers also, due to which the entire army will benefit from it.

The real definition of yoga is very different – ​​Commander Rahul Jaiswal

Commander Rahul Jaiswal said that this program completely changed his understanding of yoga. He said that the real definition of yoga is very different. It means looking within yourself. This is a kind of 'inner engineering' in which we must master. He further said that this training helps the soldiers to understand themselves better and handle stress more effectively.

It had a clear impact on both mind and body – Lieutenant Anjali Goyal

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Anjali Goyal said that this program has had a clear impact on both her mind and body. She said that mentally I feel much more at peace now and physically, I feel that my body has become more flexible than before. She further told that her thinking about yoga is no longer limited to just different asanas, but now she sees it as her inner peace and her connection with herself.

Officials visited Isha Vidya School and Ashram

Apart from Yoga, the officials visited Isha Vidya School and Ashram. He visited holy places like Dhyanalinga and Linga Bhairavi. To express their gratitude, the entire group did 'Annadanam' (food donation) and themselves served the food to the seekers living there. Describing it as his most memorable experience, Captain Joshi said that it was a great opportunity to serve in return for the love and care we received at the Ashram. The joy and connection we felt by feeding others cannot be expressed in words. Till now, more than 700 soldiers have been given this training, which is a big effort to increase the mental and physical strength of those serving the country.
