Fakhar Zaman: Going back on the decision of retirement is not a new thing for Pakistani cricketers. This had happened before and seems to be happening even now. We are talking about Pakistan's star player Fakhar Zaman, who had decided to retire from T20 cricket. But now they are saying that they will not do this now. Fakhar Zaman was last seen playing for Pakistan in T20 International in this year's T20 World Cup.

No intention of retirement yet – Fakhar Zaman

The Pakistani batsman broke his silence on the news of his retirement from T20 cricket and said that he has no such intention as of now. He said in an interview to Geo TV that after the T20 World Cup 2026, he had decided to retire from T20 cricket. But, at present I have no such intention. He said that he wants to end his T20 career on a high note.

Fakhar Zaman's T20I career

35-year-old Fakhar Zaman has played 120 T20 International matches for Pakistan so far, in which he has scored 2494 runs with 14 half-centuries at a strike rate of 132.52. In the 2 innings of 3 matches played for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026, he has scored 109 runs with a strike rate of 187.93 and an average of 54.50.

Lahore Qalandars player Fakhar in PSL too

Like Pakistan in T20 International, Fakhar Zaman is also a key player for Lahore Qalandars in PSL. In the 2 innings played so far in Pakistan Super League 2026, he has scored 54 runs with 1 half-century. His strike rate has been 131.70. This is the 11th consecutive season that Fakhar Zaman is representing Lahore Qalandars. If we look at Fakhar Zaman's entire PSL career, he is just one step away from his 100th match. So far, he has scored 3018 runs in 99 PSL matches at a strike rate of 141.82. This includes 24 half-centuries and 2 centuries.

Ban imposed on ball tampering

Fakhar Zaman was recently in the news regarding the ball tampering incident. Fakhar Zaman was banned for two matches for the incident that took place on March 29 in the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings.
