Hearing the name Pushpa, what do you think of as a flower, I am fire… This dialogue may be filmy, but for those who know Pushpa Singh, it is like her real identity. Pushpa Singh’s story is not just about fighting cancer. This is a story of standing up, living and being a support for others. He lost his spouse in the year 2014. This was such a sorrow which changed the direction of his life. She was still dealing with this pain when in 2016, at the age of 57, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This news can shake anyone to the core, but he did not give up and decided that this disease would not become his identity.

He said, ‘Death has to come to everyone one day, but before that there is also a beautiful life to live.’ The journey that started after this was not just about treatment but it was a journey of courage, patience and unwavering willpower. This path was not easy. The pain, the uncertainty, the long days in the hospital and the many restless nights, there was everything, but her strength was calm, steady and unwavering that carried her through each day. The emptiness that came after the departure of her husband was sometimes felt even today. There were two sons, daughters-in-law and beloved grandchildren in the family, but despite being with them, there were some moments when loneliness would knock silently, but they did not let loneliness become their identity. He wrote his own story.

Pushpa became a strong support for others

She became a solo traveller. Fearlessly she started roaming in every corner of the country. From mountains to the sea, from crowded cities to quiet villages, he not only saw the sights, but also reinvented himself. With every journey he proved that life does not stop, but moves forward in a new form. He adopted technology with equal dedication. After learning smartphones and social media, he started sharing small moments of his life through WhatsApp status. His smile, his journey, his victory. These were not just posts, but also symbols of hope and self-reliance, but the most special thing about them is not just their own struggle but their support for others.

After going through her pain and experiences, she became a strong support for others. Whenever a friend, relative or neighbor went through a difficult time, be it sadness, illness or mental stress, Pushpa Singh stood by them. Sometimes with words, sometimes with silence and sometimes just with your presence. He has understood the pain, not just heard it but also lived it, hence his company gives comfort to people.

He has created a distinct identity for himself in the society also. She gives courage to people, supports them and helps when needed without any expectations. His life teaches that real victory lies not only in taking care of oneself, but also in taking care of others. She believes that her grandchildren are the celebration of her life and longs to live only for them. His cheerfulness, his energy are examples but he did not let his world be limited, but made it bigger. For the last ten years, she has been taking care of her check-ups and treatment regularly. He never complained, neither about the pain, nor about the circumstances. He always chose gratitude. She looks at her past not with sadness, but with pride.

Anyone can defeat cancer- Pushpa

He said, ‘I am Pushpa – a flower, which is beautiful but also fleeting… and I am also a lion – fearless. Their name is their identity. A confluence of softness and strength. With tears in her eyes and a smile on her face, she recalls her journey and realizes the distance she has covered. He was treated at Delhi State Cancer Institute. She said that she wholeheartedly thanks the doctors and staff who supported her in every difficult moment and above all, she thanks God for giving her a new life every single day. She said that if I can win from cancer, anyone can win. Just never forget your strength.
