Fans expecting a massive on-screen moment between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth may have to wait a little longer. While excitement was building around SRK’s cameo in Jailer 2, recent updates suggest that the actor has stepped away from the opportunity.

According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan was approached for a cameo in the film and was initially open to the idea. However, his primary focus right now is King, an upcoming action thriller that holds special importance for him. One of the key reasons is that the film marks the big-screen debut of his daughter Suhana Khan.

Sources indicate that SRK wanted to maintain a sense of exclusivity for his look and appearance in King. Since the timelines of Jailer 2 and King releases are quite close, he preferred not to appear in another film beforehand in a similar avatar. He reportedly communicated this respectfully to the makers, even suggesting that things could have worked out if the release schedules were different.

The makers of Jailer 2 were reportedly planning for an August release, while King is expected to arrive in December. Due to this gap, both the sides mutually agreed to drop the cameo idea for now. Despite this, there is no strain between the two camps. In fact, Shah Rukh Khan personally reached out to Rajinikanth, expressing his admiration and making it clear that he would love to collaborate in the future, whether in a cameo or a full-length role.

Interestingly, earlier reports claimed that SRK had even agreed to shoot for five days without charging any fee, purely out of respect for Rajinikanth. However, the latest update suggests that those claims may not be accurate.

Meanwhile, King is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated projects of SRK. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma and Raghav Juyal.

The story reportedly follows SRK as a seasoned assassin navigating the dark underworld, with Suhana Khan playing his trainee. While the cameo may not be happening right now, fans can still look forward to a future collaboration between two of the biggest icons of Indian cinema.
