Bottle gourd raita is such a tasty and healthy option, which not only enhances the taste but also cools the body.
Bottle gourd is considered very beneficial for summer. It is rich in water, which helps in keeping the body hydrated. Its regular consumption keeps the body cool. Prevents dehydration. First of all, peel the bottle gourd, wash it thoroughly and grate it.
Pour some water in a pan and boil the bottle gourd lightly. Keep in mind that the bottle gourd should not be overcooked, it should just become soft.
After boiling, drain off the excess water and let the gourd cool completely.
Take fresh curd in a bowl and beat it well so that it becomes smooth.
Now add the cooled bottle gourd to the curd and mix well.
Add salt, black salt, roasted cumin powder and green chillies and mix well.
Add green coriander and red chilli powder on top. If you want, you can add mustard seeds and curry leaves to the raita in ghee – this enhances the taste even more.
