Exciting Quarter-Finals of the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2026

The quarter-finals of the Division 'A' at the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2026, held in Ranchi, Jharkhand, saw impressive performances from Hockey Association of Odisha, Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh Hockey, and Hockey Jharkhand. Supported by Anandana, the Coca-Cola India Foundation, the matches took place on Thursday.


Odisha Dominates Maharashtra

In the first quarter-final, the Hockey Association of Odisha showcased their strength with a decisive 8-1 win against Hockey Maharashtra. Priyanka Minz was the standout player, netting four goals at the 8th, 26th, 41st, and 54th minutes. Other contributors included Princess Priya Ekka (20', 42'), Sweety Kujur (26'), and Kiran Ekka (38'). Anvi Rawat managed to score the only goal for Hockey Maharashtra in the 60th minute.


Madhya Pradesh Triumphs Over Mizoram

Quarter-Final 2 featured Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeating Hockey Mizoram with a score of 5-1. Captain Nousheen Naz was instrumental, scoring a hat trick at the 12th, 24th, and 42nd minutes. Additional goals came from Nammi Geethasri (2') and Bhabar Keshar (21'). Laldinpuii, the captain of Hockey Mizoram, scored their sole goal in the 53rd minute.


Uttar Pradesh Edges Out Haryana

In a closely fought Quarter-Final 3, Uttar Pradesh Hockey secured a 2-1 victory against Hockey Haryana. Arika Kumari opened the scoring for Uttar Pradesh in the 21st minute. Although Radhika from Hockey Haryana equalized in the 50th minute, Rashi Singh clinched the win for Uttar Pradesh with a goal in the 54th minute.


Jharkhand Defeats Punjab

The final quarter-final saw the hosts, Hockey Jharkhand, triumph over Hockey Punjab with a score of 2-0. Goals were scored by Pushpa Manjhi in the 35th minute and Sandeepa Kumari in the 53rd minute.


Semi-Finals Scheduled

The semi-finals are set to take place on Friday, April 10, 2026, where Hockey Association of Odisha will compete against Hockey Madhya Pradesh, and Hockey Jharkhand will face Uttar Pradesh Hockey.
