Gemini New Feature:If you feel difficulty in handling your work documents and study material, then Google’s new feature can make this problem easier for you. The company has introduced a new feature called ‘Notebooks’ in its Gemini app and web platform, which has the potential to change the way users work and learn.

This feature is based on Google’s AI-based platform NotebookLM, which was first introduced in July 2023. Now the company has included this technology directly in the Gemini app, which will give users a smarter and more organized experience at one place.

What is NotebookLM and how does it work?

NotebookLM is an artificial intelligence based research and note-taking platform. It stores and analyzes documents uploaded by users. This may include Google Docs, PDF, YouTube videos, weblinks and other files.

This platform answers the questions of the users on the basis of all this data and helps in understanding the important information. Earlier it worked as a separate platform, but now it has been added to Gemini as ‘Notebooks’ feature.

What can you do with Gemini Notebooks feature?

Through Gemini’s new Notebooks feature, users can organize all their important documents in one place. In this, documents, PDF, videos and web links can be kept in a single folder.

With the help of this feature:

  • Research can be done on a particular topic
  • A summary of the uploaded content can be obtained
  • Questions can be answered based on data

In simple words, it is like a digital notebook, but smarter and more interactive.

How to use?

Users can easily access this feature in the side panel of the Gemini app. Here they can create a new notebook and add files, folders and links from different sources.

According to Google, users can also give custom instructions so that Gemini can provide more accurate and useful information. The company said, "Once your chosen sources are organized in a notebook, Gemini uses them combined with its powerful tools and web search to provide uniquely useful answers."

Sync feature between NotebookLM and Gemini

Google also said that the Notebooks feature will sync across both NotebookLM and Gemini platforms. That means if you have created a notebook on one platform, it will be available on the other platform also.

Additionally, features like video overviews and infographics will also be available in NotebookLM, even if the notebook is created in the Gemini app.

When and who will get this feature?

Google has started rolling out this feature this week. It is currently available on the web for Google AI Ultra, Pro and Plus subscribers. In the coming time, it will also be released as mobile app and for free users in other countries.

Google AI Plus subscription in India is priced at ₹199 per month, while the Pro and Ultra plans are available for ₹1950 and ₹24,500 per month respectively.
