Kalashtami Puja Muhurat 2026: In Hindu religion, Kalashtami, which comes every month, is considered to have special significance. This day is dedicated to the worship of Lord Kaal Bhairav, who is considered to be the fierce form of Lord Shiva. It is believed that worshiping with true heart on this day removes negativity and fear from life and also provides freedom from upcoming obstacles.
There was confusion among the people regarding the date of Kalashtami in the month of April. Many people were confused between 9 and 10 April. However, according to the Hindu calendar, this time the fast and worship of Kalashtami will be done on April 10 only. Let us know the exact time, method of worship and what things should be kept in mind on this day.
According to the Hindu calendar, Krishna Paksha Ashtami Tithi of Vaishakh month has started on April 9 at 9.19 pm. This date will last till 11:15 pm on 10th April. Considering the Udayatithi, the fast and worship of Kalashtami will be done on 10th April only.
Nishita Kaal i.e. night time is considered most suitable for worshiping Kaal Bhairav. Today the auspicious time of puja will be from 9 pm to 11 pm. During this period, worshiping as per the rituals is considered extremely fruitful.
Kaal Bhairav is considered to be the fierce form of Lord Shiva. On this day, take bath in the morning, wear clean clothes and take a pledge to fast. Install the idol or picture of Kaal Bhairav at the worship place of the house.
After this, anoint with Ganga water, milk and Panchamrit. Light a lamp and incense and offer black sesame seeds, mustard oil, flowers and sweet bread.
Chant the mantra “Om Kalabhairavaya Namah” 108 times and feed sweet bread to the black dog.
On the day of Kalashtami, one should stay away from Tamasic food like meat and alcohol. Do not delay the worship and follow the auspicious time. Avoid negative thoughts and do not insult anyone. Also one should avoid harassing dogs.
Reciting Kaal Bhairav Chalisa on this day is considered extremely auspicious:
