RR vs RCB: Rajasthan Royals’ fourth consecutive win, defeated RCB by 6 wickets

The 16th match of IPL 2026 was very exciting. The match was played on 10 April between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. RCB scored 200+ runs but thanks to the explosive innings of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, RR easily achieved the target and won by 6 wickets.

 

Before this match, both Rajasthan and Bengaluru teams were unbeaten in IPL 2026 but in this match, RR took the lead by defeating RCB. After this victory, Rajasthan is on top in the points table with 8 points after winning 4 matches. Whereas Bengaluru remains at third position in the points table with 2 wins in 3 matches.

 

Bengaluru’s innings

After losing the toss, RCB came to bat first. Bengaluru lost wickets continuously in the powerplay but did not let the run flow stop. Between 1 and 6 overs, the team scored 61 runs after losing 3 wickets. After this, the process of falling wickets did not stop even in the middle overs and between 7 and 15 overs, Bengaluru scored 78 runs after losing 4 wickets. After this, the team made a comeback in the death overs and scored 62 runs after losing 1 wicket between 16 and 20 overs. Due to which RCB was successful in making a big score of 201 runs by losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.

Captain Rajat Patidar scored the highest score of 63 runs for RCB. Virat Kohli scored 32 runs. As an impact player, Venkatesh Iyer played a brilliant innings in the death overs and scored an unbeaten 29 runs. For Rajasthan Royals, Jofra Archer, Ravi Bishnoi and Brijesh Sharma took two wickets each, while Sandeep Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket each.

 

 

Rajasthan’s innings

Rajasthan Royals, while chasing the runs, started with the fall of one wicket in the second over itself but after that the team made a strong comeback and completely dominated. In the powerplay i.e. first 6 overs, Rajasthan scored 97 runs by losing only 1 wicket. After this, some wickets definitely fell in the middle overs but the pace of scoring did not stop at all. Between 7 and 15 overs, the team lost 3 wickets and added 80 runs. Then the team scored 25 runs in the death overs. In this way, Rajasthan Royals scored 202 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 18 overs and won the match by 6 wickets with 12 balls remaining.

 

Dhruv Jurel played the highest unbeaten inning of 81 runs for Rajasthan Royals. Whereas Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 78 runs in just 26 balls. Apart from this, Ravindra Jadeja also remained unbeaten after scoring 24 runs. For RCB, Josh Hazlewood and Krunal Pandya took 2-2 wickets but all the other bowlers were badly beaten.
