Iran's delegation has reached Pakistan's capital Islamabad for the ceasefire talks with America. The eyes of not only Washington and Tehran but the entire world are fixed on this dialogue. This delegation is being led by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
On reaching Islamabad airport, Ghalibaf spoke to journalists. During this, he reminded of the previous betrayal with Iran. He clearly said that Iran is participating sincerely in the talks, but does not trust America.
He said that past experiences have not been encouraging, due to which Tehran is adopting a cautious approach. He said that two wars were launched on Iran within the same year, while it was in the middle of a negotiation process. He said, 'In the midst of negotiations twice in less than a year and despite the goodwill of the Iranian side, they (US) attacked us and committed many war crimes'.
Along with this, Ghalibaf reiterated, we have goodwill in our hearts, but we do not trust (the Americans). He said that if the American side is ready for a real agreement and to give up the rights of the Iranian nation, then they will see Iran's readiness to compromise.
However, Ghalibaf said that if Washington wants to use the talks as a useless sham and deception operation, Tehran is ready to rely on its own capabilities to secure the rights of the Iranian nation. He cited the country's successful and determined defensive and counter-attacks during recent aggression as evidence of the country's preparedness to firmly safeguard its national interests and defend its sovereignty.
Iran's delegation includes security, political, military, economic and legal committees. Apart from this, along with Speaker Ghalibaf, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and representative of Iran's leader in the National Security Council, Ali Akbar Ahmadinee are also present.
