Aadhaar Card Update: The Aadhaar card is currently one of the most essential documents. It is required for various purposes, such as banking, government schemes, obtaining SIM cards, and applying for passports. Consequently, even a minor error in it can lead to significant complications. In particular, if your father's name is recorded incorrectly or is incomplete on your Aadhaar card, it may cause difficulties in the future when undertaking tasks such as applying for a PAN card, opening a bank account, or applying for a passport. The good news is that you can rectify this error from the comfort of your home. Let's explore the simple process for doing so—

How to Correct Your Father's Name on the Aadhaar Card?
The UIDAI has made this process very simple. Under this system, you can complete this task using both online and offline methods.

Online Method (How to correct your Father's name on the Aadhaar Card Online)
To begin, visit the official UIDAI website.
Log in using your Aadhaar number.
To log in, you will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number; enter this OTP to proceed.
Next, select the option labeled 'Update Demographics' or 'Update Aadhaar Details'.

Here, you will find various options to update different details. Select 'Father's Name' and enter the correct name.
You will then need to upload a valid supporting document (such as an Identity Card or Birth Certificate) that clearly displays your father's correct name.
Once you have accurately filled in all the details, submit the form.
You will receive an Update Request Number (URN), which you can use to track the status of your update request.

Offline Method (Offline Process)
If you prefer not to use the online process, you can visit your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra (Aadhaar Service Center). There, you will need to fill out an update form, providing the correct information. Submit the necessary supporting documents along with the form and complete your biometric verification. Afterward, you will receive an acknowledgement slip containing a URN. You can use this number to check the status of your update request.

However, for both of these methods, your mobile number must be linked to your Aadhaar card.
