Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Team India Debut Debate: JDU National Working President and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha (Sanjay Kumar Jha) 15 year old cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi Has given a big statement in the ongoing debate regarding Team India debut. He said that talent is not dependent on age. There are many such examples in history, where players achieved great success at the international level at an early age. He said this while sharing an article by veteran leg spinner Anil Kumble.
Sanjay Kumar Jha said on X that Sachin Tendulkar Made his debut in international cricket at the age of 16. Football legends Pele and Lionel Messi also started playing for Brazil and FC Barcelona respectively at the age of 16. He further said that tennis star Boris Becker had won Wimbledon at the age of 17, while swimming great Michael Phelps had qualified for the Sydney Olympics 2000 at the age of 15.
Sanjay Kumar Jha said that there are many examples which show that talent should not be stopped on the basis of age. He also said that the idea of postponing or not rushing the debut of 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi goes against both logic and real examples. Responding to Sanjay’s post, Anil Kumble said, “Read the entire news, not the headline.”
Actually, Anil Kumble had said in an article that Vaibhav Suryavanshi should not be included in Team India in a hurry. It is important to give them time. On this statement, Sanjay Jha said, “Talent is not dependent on age.”
15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar has caught everyone’s attention by batting brilliantly for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, but former Indian captain, coach and veteran spinner Anil Kumble believes that he should not be included in Team India in a hurry. In one of his articles written in ‘Times of India’, Kumble said that bringing a 15-year-old player into the team too early can increase unnecessary pressure on him. He said that although the selectors have their eyes on Suryavanshi, there should be no haste in the beginning of his career.
Kumble also compared Vaibhav Suryavanshi with the great batsman Sachin Tendulkar. He said that even when Sachin was 14-15 years old, he was continuously scoring centuries and showing extraordinary talent. According to Kumble, Vaibhav is also showing the same kind of talent, but every player’s journey is different. He said that imposing expectations too early can be difficult for a young player.
