The issue of refusal of two women councilors of Congress to sing Vande Mataram in Indore Municipal Corporation is gaining momentum, the special thing is that Congress is silent in this matter and has not taken any action yet. On the other hand, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is angry at Congress over the insult of Vande Mataram. He has demanded the resignation of Jitu Patwari and other senior Congress leaders.

The political turmoil of the incidents that took place on April 8 in Indore Municipal Corporation is still affecting the politics of the state. Two elected female councilors of the Municipal Corporation, Rubina Iqbal Khan and Fauzia Shaikh Aleem, refused to sing India’s national song Vande Mataram in the house full of people. They said that Islam does not allow them to sing it. When the voice echoed in the house that if they want to live in India, they will have to say Vande Mataram, then the women councilors of Congress. He even said that if someone’s father has the power then he should get it done… Rubina Khan even said for the sake of her own party, Congress should go to hell.

Congress leadership’s silence is under question

The matter escalated further when Indore Congress District President Chintu Choukse said that Rubina should now consider herself out of the Congress. He made a proposal for her expulsion and sent it to the PCC and said that Vande Mataram will be sung in all the Congress meetings. Those who can sing should come and those who cannot sing should not come. Even after three days of the matter escalating, the silence of the state Congress leadership is raising questions, Jitu Patwari has till now said on this. No action has been taken.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed his displeasure on this attitude of Congress. CM said that it is with great regret that I have to say that the Congress councilors refused to sing Vande Mataram inside the Municipal Corporation and very shamelessly said that I will not sing. This exposes the double character of Congress.

CM asked questions to Jitu Patwari, Kharge, Rahul Gandhi

The Chief Minister said that State Congress President Jitu Patwari, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharag, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi should clarify on this, they should tell why they encourage such people of the party? After all, where will these people take the country? Why would you insult the patriots?

The Chief Minister said that thousands of patriots sacrificed their lives while chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai and here the elected councilors of Congress refuse to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai and even refuse to chant Vande Mataram. Dr. Mohan Yadav said that I am very sad about this and am also feeling very guilty on the Congress leaders.

CM asked for resignation from Jitu Patwari

He said that State President Jitu Patwari, who keeps speaking on every matter, should tell what he has to say on the remarks of his own party councilor in his home district. He said that if Jitu Patwari is unable to take any action, then he should resign and along with him, other Congress leaders should also resign.

The Chief Minister said that Congress leaders used to talk about Lord Ram, his temple and insult Hindus, now they are going beyond the limits and insulting Vande Mataram. Dr Yadav said that PM Modi had won the hearts of the entire country by adding all the 6 verses of Vande Mataram to it whereas Congress had disappeared it, hence even today Congress has not been able to come out of its double character.
