Opener Abhishek Sharma showed the class of Punjab bowlers by scoring 74 runs in just 28 balls. Along with Travis Head, he crossed the 100 mark in the first 6 overs itself. But Shreyas Iyer's Punjab defeated Hyderabad. Punjab's openers Priyansh Arya (57) and Prabhsimran Singh (51) laid the foundation of victory by giving a start of 99 runs. In the end, captain Shreyas Iyer took charge and played an unbeaten inning of 69 runs, leading the team to victory by 6 wickets. Iyer was named 'Player of the Match' for his match-winning innings. With this victory, Punjab has now reached second position.
The celebration of the yellow jersey players yesterday at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai was worth watching. After losing three consecutive matches, Chennai has finally opened its winning account. Delhi Capitals had to face defeat by 23 runs. Tristan Stubbs scored 60 runs for Delhi.
