According to Reuters report, Samsung has directly increased the prices of its foldable smartphones. Especially the price of 1TB and 512GB variants of Galaxy Z Fold 7 has been increased by about $ 80, while the price of 256GB variant has been kept constant for now. This increase is not limited to America only, but a similar trend has also been seen in markets like Korea, where Galaxy Z Flip 7 and other models have also become costlier. The special thing is that this price increase did not come with any offer or upgrade, but there was a direct change in the base price. Its effect can be seen in India also.
The company has made it clear that the global memory chip shortage is a major reason behind this price increase. Samsung Electronics' co-CEO TM Roh had already indicated that such an increase was "inevitable". According to reports, due to rising costs, not only new phones like Galaxy S26 have become expensive, but the prices of old models are also being revised. The recently launched Galaxy A57 has also seen a price increase. This shows that the company is now passing on cost pressures directly to customers.
