Shah Rukh Khan took to social media to share an emotional note upon the passing of legendary singer Asha Bhosle. She was 92 and has been a singing legend for decades now. The actor’s note pays a tribute to her, while remembering the impact she’s had not just on the industry, but also on many generations of singers.

Taking to social media, Shah Rukh Khan went on to share his grief, while also admiring the singer for her talent. He wrote, “It’s truly sad to learn about Asha Tai’s passing… her voice has been one of the pillars of Indian cinema and will continue to resonate world over for centuries to come. A talent that will outlive many, she always showered me with blessings and love and i will miss her. Rest in Peace Asha Tai… love you."

Asha Bhosle passed away in Mumbai, and it was truly a massive loss for the Indian music industry, as it marked the end of an era, if nothing at all. The singer was rushed to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on April 11 after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest, where she was being treated. Alas, she breathed her last, and doctors later revealed that multi-organ failure was the cause of her death.

The news was confirmed by Maharashtra’s Minister of Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar. It has been a dark day in the music industry as well as the film fraternity, as her passing has left everyone heartbroken, while fans, friends and family are grieving the loss of India’s finest voices.

Asha Bhosle’s mortal remains will be kept at her residence from 11 am to 3 pm on April 13, Monday, where friends, family, and others can pay their last respects. Her last rites, meanwhile, will take place at Shivaji Park at 4 pm.

Son Anand Bhosle told the media present outside the hospital, “Meri mataji Shrimati Asha Bhosle inka aaj nidhan ho chuka hai. Woh Jahan rehti thi, Casa grand lower parel 11am, wahan unke antim darshan honge, wahan aaiye aur kal dopahar ko 4 baje Shivaji park unka antim sanskar hoga (She passed away today. Those who wish to pay their last respects can visit her residence tomorrow at 11 am. The last rites will be performed tomorrow at 4 pm at Shivaji Park)."
