Asha Bhosle's songs are still alive in the hearts of people. But do you know how Asha Bhosle sang her first song? Let us tell you the story of the recording of his first song.
Legendary singer Asha Bhosle died on 12 April. He was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai a day earlier due to chest infection. Later he was shifted to ICU. With his death an era of Indian music came to an end. A voice that nurtured many generations has now become silent forever. But 83 years ago, Asha Bhosle started entering the industry by singing her first song and gradually she started getting success.
In her career spanning more than 8 decades, Asha Bhosle sang more than 12 thousand songs and also received many big honors. Before Asha Bhosle's debut, her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar had already entered the industry and became famous as soon as she arrived. However, Asha Bhosle had to struggle more than Lata. Asha Bhosle recorded her first song at the age of 10. But the way it was recorded is still remembered today. Asha Bhosle's first song was not a Hindi song, but a Marathi song.
Decades before fame, awards and evergreen songs, a 10-year-old girl, Asha Bhosle, was recording her first song. The year was 1943 and the song was 'Chala Chala Nav Bala' for the Marathi film 'Majha Bala'. But this song was not recorded in any luxurious studio setup or any very nice place. Asha Bhosle had recorded this song while standing under a tree. Asha Bhosle sang her first Hindi song “Sawan Aaya” in 1948 for the film ‘Chunariya’. After this he lent his voice to thousands of songs.
Years later, when remembering that moment, Asha Bhosle said, "When I recorded my first song, I was 10 years old. I had to sing this song standing in front of the mic and at that time I was trembling, because then I did not know anything. My father had recorded his songs. Then when I sang the first song, I felt that I can sing. Not only didi, I can also sing."
The conditions under which he worked in his early years were completely different from the experiences of today's artists. Technology was limited and recording in itself was a test of patience and courage. During a conversation with the media, she once told, "The sets inside Mohan Studio in Andheri were not that empty and shooting was going on everywhere in Mumbai. The recording arrangements were such that I stood in the open and the mic was hanging from a tree. Inside the studio, the orchestra and musicians were sitting with their equipment. We recorded the song till 4 in the morning."
Asha Bhosle further mentioned, "Crows used to come and caw, which disrupted the recording. Immediately after that, vehicles started moving and that also disrupted the session. Trains also started moving. When the train passed by, we used to stop and start the entire recording process again. That's how we managed the work. It was a difficult period."
