An Indian Army Brigadier and his son (IIT graduate) were allegedly attacked by a group of eight to ten people in the Vasant Enclave area of ​​South Delhi. This incident happened late on Friday night, the dispute escalated when the father and son objected to people drinking alcohol in a parked car late at night. The people who were drinking called some of their friends, and soon 7-8 more men arrived there in several vehicles. These people attacked the brigadier's son, causing serious injuries to him, and not only this, they also scuffled with the serving brigadier himself."


He said that despite calling the police helpline (112) after the incident of assault and sending a PCR vehicle (ZBR39A, mobile number 9311923339) to the spot, no appropriate action was taken by the policemen present there. The fight took place in front of the PCR van, yet no intervention was taken.

Complaint not registered in police station

Immediately after the incident, the family went to Vasant Vihar police station to lodge an FIR. But his complaint was not registered there, and he was also not given any immediate medical help. Ultimately, both the injured were taken to the military hospital for treatment. A written complaint was subsequently lodged, but the lack of timely police action, whether at the spot or at the police station, raises serious concerns.

Ashok Bijalwan said in his complaint that this incident needs immediate attention and accountability should be fixed. Strict action should be taken against those involved in illegal drinking in public places, organized attacks and dereliction of duty by the police personnel present there. However, there has been no confirmation of this matter from the police yet.
