
The Assam government reached the Supreme Court against the anticipatory bail of Congress leader Pawan Kheda. Rahul Gandhi has fiercely attacked CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on this decision of Assam government. While sharing the post on social media, he said that the current Chief Minister of Assam is the most corrupt Chief Minister of the country. They will not be able to escape the grip of law. Misusing state power to harass one's political opponents and critics is against the Constitution.
He said that the questions being raised should be investigated. Transparency, accountability of power and rule of law are the basis of our constitutional values. Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress party stands with Pawan Kheda. We are not afraid.
Telangana High Court had given relief to Pawan Kheda and granted him bail. Telangana High Court had granted transit anticipatory bail of one week to Pawan Kheda. Pawan Kheda was granted bail in a case registered in Assam against Riniki Sharma, wife of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Now Assam government has filed a petition in SC against the order of Telangana High Court.
The current CM of Assam is the most corrupt in the country. He will not escape the law. His abuse of state power to harass his political opponents and critics is against the Constitution.

The Assam government has challenged the bail order on the ground that the anticipatory bail petition was filed in Hyderabad, while Kheda has not given any reason why he cannot come to Assam and apply for anticipatory bail there. The High Court had rejected the state's argument regarding the admissibility of the bail petition. The court had said that keeping in mind Article 21 of the Constitution, the High Court can grant transit anticipatory bail of a limited period, even outside its jurisdiction, to help the accused reach the competent court.
