Synopsis

Abhishek Sharma faced an early setback at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. He was dismissed for a golden duck by Jofra Archer on the first ball. Ravi Bishnoi took the catch. This was Abhishek's seventh duck in 2026 T20 innings. Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag won the toss and chose to bowl first.

At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a golden duck during the match against Rajasthan Royals.

Early Blow by Jofra Archer

Known for his explosive starts, Abhishek was sent back on the very first delivery of the innings by Royals pacer Jofra Archer. Opening the batting with Travis Head, he attempted an aggressive shot by stepping down the pitch but ended up getting a top edge.

The ball went high, and Ravi Bishnoi comfortably completed the catch in the deep, ending Abhishek’s innings without scoring. A disappointed Abhishek showed his frustration on the way back to the pavilion, striking his gloves against the bat after the early dismissal.


Unwanted Record in 2026

The duck marked his seventh in 18 T20 innings in 2026, the highest by any player this year.

Earlier, Riyan Parag, captain of Rajasthan Royals, won the toss and chose to bowl first.
