Hyderabad: Vidarbha fast bowler Praful Hinge, who played a key role in Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)’s victory on Monday in IPL 2026 and performed brilliantly on his IPL debut, said that he had already thought last year that when he would debut, he would take four or five wickets. Hinge told that he had already told some people that he would take the wicket of Vaibhav Suryavanshi on the very first ball. After receiving the Player of the Match award after the match, Hinge said, “Last year I had written somewhere that when I debut, I will take four or five wickets. I wanted to dominate the powerplay as much as possible. I don’t know about others but I believe in it (manifestation).”

Captain Ishan Kishan bowled the first over to Hinge and he dismissed Suryavanshi on his very second ball. This was Suryavanshi’s first ball and he went to play on the leg side but the ball took the outside edge of his bat and went to the keeper. Apart from Suryavanshi, Hinge also took the wickets of Dhruv Jurel and Luan-Dre Pretorius in his very first over but his most favorite wicket was the wicket of Suryavanshi.
Hinge said, “Suryavanshi’s wicket was the best because he was in form. I had already told some people that I would get him out on the very first ball, either by bowling a bouncer or getting him out in some other way. I wanted to get his wicket on the very first ball. That was the plan and our bowling coach Varun (Aaron) Bhai helped me a lot. I am thankful to everyone who supported me.” Talking about his cricket journey, Hinge said that when he started playing cricket, he did not even know what a leather ball was.
Hinge said, “I started playing cricket at the age of 13, when I didn’t even know what a leather ball was. I told my father that I wanted to join the club but he refused saying that I was too young. But somehow things took off from there and I kept playing. It’s a great feeling to be standing here, I want to dedicate this award to my family.”

Along with Hinge, another fast bowler Saqib Hussain also made a explosive debut and he also took four wickets. He took the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second over itself and then he also took the wicket of Donovan Ferreira, who scored the only half-century for RR. Shakib gave credit for his performance to Aaron.

Shakib said, “Every player wishes that his debut should be like this. When I came to know that I am making my debut, then I felt very good. The bowling coach had told me a day before that I was going to play, so I was ready for it. Bowling coach Varun Aaron had been working with me for the last three-four matches. My bowling has improved because of him.”
