Meghan Markle has been dealt a brutal blow ahead of a big speaking event in Australia this weekend. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently on day two of their tour in Australia, which will see them take part in both joint and solo engagements.

One of the solo engagements Meghan is set to attend is a wellness event in Sydney, organised by Her Best Life podcast. The event promises guests an experience of yoga, sound healing, meditation, a psychologist-led session and a disco evening.

It is believed that 300 women will attend the event, which will run between April 17 and 19.

The event comes at quite a cost, with tickets starting at A$2,699 (£1,400) per person. The VIP experience set fans back $3,199AUD [£1,700].

This VIP experience reportedly includes a group picture with Meghan, seating within the front two rows at Meghan's event and an exclusive VIP goodie bag.

The price of the event took many on social media by surprise, so here at The Daily Express we ran a poll asking royal fans whether they would pay to attend an event Meghan Markle is speaking at.

Readers were asked: "Would you pay to attend an event Meghan Markle is speaking at?" and ran from 2pm on Monday 13 April to 2pm on Wednesday 15 April.

The results were brutal, with 4187 of the 4243 people who voted answering no, meaning they wouldn't pay to attend an event she was speaking at.

A total of 48 people said they would pay, while 8 said they are unsure.

Prince Harry will not accompany his wife to her speaking event this weekend.

Instead, he is likely to be carrying out his own engagements in Australia that same day.
