In a disturbing incident in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, a young woman became a victim of rape. The situation escalated after she was invited to share pizza by a friend of her acquaintance.

After consuming pizza, the dentist was assaulted by the perpetrator, who was actually a friend’s acquaintance. This incident is particularly alarming as it involved a professional who was betrayed by someone she trusted.

On April 9, 2026, the victim was invited to a birthday party where a young man named Danish allegedly spiked her drink with a sedative hidden in the pizza. Once she lost consciousness, he took advantage of the situation and assaulted her. Following the complaint, local authorities apprehended the suspect in West Bengal.

The victim, who hails from Jamshedpur, was preparing for her Master’s in Dental Surgery (MDS) while residing in Ranchi. The incident unfolded around 5 PM when she arrived at her friend’s home in Lalpur for the birthday celebration, which included five attendees, including her friend and three other males. Allegations suggest that after cutting the cake at 8 PM, the friends’ intentions turned malicious.

According to the dentist, she felt hungry during the party, prompting Danish to offer her pizza. Shortly after eating, her health deteriorated, leading her to seek rest in a separate room. Danish followed her there and assaulted her while she was incapacitated. The next morning, she became aware of the horrific act that had occurred. Her condition worsened, and on April 11, her friend Shivam rushed her to ‘Orchid Hospital’ in critical condition. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this case.
