I'm A Celeb star has exposed themselves as a terrible person - and it's not who you think

I'm A Celebrity All Stars is back with a bang, and it's fair to say the star-studded reality show has ruffled some feathers this year. Since it returned to the airwaves last week, the South African show has made headlines for all the wrong reasons, starting with former heavyweight boxer David Haye. At the start of the week, the sportsman spouted a slew of vile and misogynistic remarks about his girlfriend and his opinions on women.

But he isn't the only star who has embarrassed themselves on the show, as music sensation Sinitta raised a few eyebrows during her unexpected clash with TOWIE icon Gemma Collins. Last week, the So Macho singer branded the reality star a "joke" when the discussion of her role of Mama Morton in the West End musical Chicago came up.

Gemma was due to portray the character back in 2022 after Sinitta stepped down, but was forced to withdraw from the production after sustaining a "terrible injury".

The 62-year-old confessed to Gemma: "I'm going to admit it, when I heard you were going to do it, I thought it was a joke announcement. I think you'd just presented something at an awards show and fell off the stage. It was like you were more of a comedian."

Although David's comments are wildly inappropriate and hateful towards women, it has become a growing phenomenon on social media. Just take a look at Louis Theroux's latest Netflix documentary, Inside the Manosphere.

But one thing I feel wasn't discussed enough was the musician's cruel and unexpected comments about Gemma in camp. As a girls' girl, I feel like it's my job to raise awareness on this, because this jealousy is no excuse to pit us against each other.

I thought Sinitta's comments were unjust and, honestly, reeked of jealousy from a musician who is clearly furious to see others succeed. Just because she stepped back from a prestigious role doesn't mean you need to hate on those having a go for themselves.

There's enough room for everyone to succeed, and being bitter about it only showcases her own insecurities on the big screen. I don't think this was a good look for her, and it appears that the pair still aren't on speaking terms to this day.

Although the spin-off series was filmed last September, the pair have shown that there's still bad blood between them. Gemma has notably followed her other campmates on Instagram, bar the Toy Boy hitmaker.

Last Friday morning (April 10), the reality queen shared an old clip of herself hinting that Sinitta's words still stung. She told her fans: "Anyone who ever doubted me, said I was never going to be anything... f*** you!"

She captioned the post: "Never let people tell you you're a JOKE. I've been through thousands of trials and tribulations to get where I am today."

I think the only way to move past this is for Sinitta to make a full and honest apology for her comments, ideally privately, so they both can save face.

It would be refreshing to see these two strong, powerful women come together again as a united front, especially given that cruel people like David are knocking us down already. Sinitta, do better and make this right. Don't join forces with David; it's not a nice group to be a part of.
