The leader of the Tamilaga Vetttri Kazhagam (TVK), Vijay, introduced his party's manifesto for the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections on Thursday. The document outlines various welfare measures aimed at women and economically disadvantaged groups. While presenting the manifesto, Vijay emphasized that TVK is committed to honest governance, stating, "Our first electoral manifesto is a promise of integrity. Unlike Stalin, we will not mislead the public. We are not rushing to produce a hollow manifesto filled with empty promises." He reiterated that both the DMK and other parties are fundamentally similar.
Vijay urged voters to compare the manifestos released by both parties. He noted that if a few points were similar, it would be acceptable. However, he pointed out that if one party promises ₹10,000, the other offers an ₹8,000 coupon. Similarly, if one party pledges to provide refrigerators, the other gives tokens for purchasing them. He criticized both parties for presenting nearly identical manifestos, merely changing names and colors, and labeled them as factions under the same umbrella. "We will never deceive the public like these two corrupt groups," he asserted.
Among his key promises, Vijay announced that women under 60 years of age would receive ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance. He also guaranteed six free LPG cylinders annually for each family. To support women from economically weaker backgrounds, he pledged marriage assistance, which includes 8 grams of gold and a high-quality silk saree. Additionally, he promised the establishment of a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, an AI university, and an AI city, along with a commitment to corruption-free and efficient governance if elected.
Vijay further stated that to support every college student, his party would provide guarantee-free loans of up to ₹20 lakh for education from undergraduate to doctoral levels. Free coaching for competitive exams powered by AI will also be offered. Each registered graduate at employment offices will receive ₹5,000 monthly. Additionally, a provision for 5 lakh internships will be made, with stipends of ₹10,000 per month for graduates and ₹8,000 for ITI and diploma holders. Enhanced pensions of ₹3,000 per month will be provided for senior citizens, widows, and persons with disabilities.
