Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh and Mumbai Indians batter Quinton de Kock produced defining moments in the IPL 2026 clash at the Wankhede Stadium, with the former reaching a major bowling milestone and the latter lighting up the game with a stunning century.

Quinton De Kock’s century

Amid the early setbacks, Quinton de Kock anchored Mumbai’s innings with a commanding knock after being left out of the initial matches and returning due to Rohit Sharma’s injury.

He brought up his third IPL century in style, reaching the milestone off 63 balls with a boundary off Xavier Bartlett. The shot was a well-executed reverse lap to a low full toss outside off, as de Kock bent low and used the pace to guide the ball fine past short third.

Despite wickets falling at the other end, de Kock held firm and turned the innings around, drawing applause from skipper Hardik Pandya, who acknowledged the effort from the dugout.

Arshdeep delivered a crucial spell, picking up two wickets in consecutive deliveries to complete 100 IPL wickets, while de Kock responded with a brilliant hundred, marking his return to the side in emphatic fashion.

Double strike rocks Mumbai

The left-arm pacer struck again on the very next ball, forcing Suryakumar Yadav into an attacking shot that resulted in an outside edge to short third man, where Yuzvendra Chahal completed the catch. The quick double blow put Arshdeep on a hat-trick and dented Mumbai’s top order.

Milestone moment for Arshdeep

Arshdeep became the first Punjab Kings bowler to reach 100 IPL wickets, going past Piyush Chawla’s tally of 84. The landmark came when Ryan Rickelton flicked a delivery down the leg side straight to Shashank Singh at deep square leg.

With the feat, Arshdeep joined an elite list of left-arm pacers including Trent Boult, Jaydev Unadkat, Ashish Nehra and Zaheer Khan to claim 100 or more IPL wickets.

Arshdeep’s early burst had reduced Mumbai to 48 for 2 in the powerplay, but de Kock’s innings ensured the hosts remained competitive. The contrasting performances underlined how both bat and ball shaped the contest in a high-stakes encounter.
