Authorities in Nurpur District are stepping up their efforts to combat illegal mining activities. In a span of just two days, police operations across various stations have resulted in the seizure of eight vehicles involved in unlawful mining practices. Here are the specifics of the operations conducted:
Indora Police Station: During routine checks and patrols in the Thakurdwara outpost area, officers inspected around 20 to 25 vehicles. They confiscated four tippers that were operating without the necessary X-Forms. All vehicles were impounded under the Mining Act, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
Jawali Police Station: At the Nagrota Surian outpost, police intercepted two tractors loaded with sand during a naka check. Both vehicles were seized, fined, and cases have been forwarded to the court.
Damtal Police Station: Within the Damtal jurisdiction, one tractor lacking valid documentation was confiscated. Additionally, during nighttime patrols, a dumper operating without an X-Form was apprehended. Both vehicles were impounded under the Mining Act, and cases will be presented to the Hon’ble JMFC Court in Indora.
