Ahmedabad. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the toss and decided to bat first against Gujarat Titans in the 25th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Friday. Today here Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane has won the toss and decided to bat first. We want our batsmen to play freely. Whatever kind of tournament has come our way, we have tried everything.

Have tried batting first also. I feel that giving that freedom to the batsmen and defending the total could be a better decision. Sometimes you should not depend too much on data and statistics. It’s about how you feel as a team and what you want to do. Like I said, the way the tournament has been for us, we want to change things. So I thought batting first was a better decision.

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill said that to be honest, we would have bowled first. I always think the weather is getting a little warmer, so maybe there might be a little dew. We haven’t seen that in the last 3-4 matches, but as we move ahead in the tournament and the weather gets warmer, maybe there could be some dew. He said that there is no change in the team.
