Pakistan Test Team New Head Coach: Pakistan has announced the new coaching staff for the two-Test series against Bangladesh to be held in May. Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed the head coach of the team. Sarfaraz had retired from international cricket only last month. Along with this, former Test batsman Asad Shafiq has been given the responsibility of batting coach and former fast bowler Umar Gul has been given the responsibility of bowling coach. At the same time, Shan Masood will still remain the captain of the team.
Sarfaraz Ahmed is the captain of the Pakistani team that won the 2017 Champions Trophy. Recently he worked as the mentor/manager of Pakistan Shaheen team against England Lions. Sarfaraz Ahmed had retired from international cricket only last month. Since then there were speculations that he was going to get the responsibility of head coach. Whereas, Asad Shafiq played 77 test matches for Pakistan and scored 4660 runs, which included 12 centuries. Apart from him, Umar Gul has taken a total of 427 wickets in all three formats. Now these three giants are going to work together.
Pakistan Cricket Board has also announced the squad for this series. Pakistan has selected a 16-member team, which includes four new players. Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azaan Awais and Ghazi Ghori are the new faces included in the team. Let us tell you, except Ghazi Gori, the remaining three are uncapped. Before this tour, the team will camp in Karachi from 27 April to 1 May. The players will join the team after the PSL final and leave for Bangladesh on May 2. Both these test matches will be played in Dhaka (8-12 May) and Sylhet (16-20 May).
