Also asked to resume passage facilities for India-bound ships as soon as possible. On this, the Iranian Ambassador has assured to convey these ideas to the Iranian authorities. India is keeping a close eye on this matter.
Earlier on Saturday, there was firing on two merchant ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. This firing was done by the Iranian Navy, in which two Indian ships were fired upon. After this the Iranian Ambassador to MEA has been summoned. Also a message has been given to express protest against the attack on the Indian tanker. It is being told that this attack on an Indian ship took place near Oman. However, after India's tough stance, there has been no news of any attack from Iran again.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important sea routes in the world. It is said that a large amount of crude oil passes through here. Countries like India, which import oil from the Gulf region, are heavily dependent on this route. In such a situation, any kind of tension here can directly affect India's energy security. India has made it clear that it wants safe passage for its ships through the Strait of Hormuz. The Ministry of External Affairs has expressed hope that Iran will soon normalize the situation and ensure safe passage for Indian ships. At present India is working on further strategy.
