Registration for UGC NET June 2026 will start soon, know eligibility, required documents and trend of previous years.

National Testing conducts the UGC NET exam (UGC NET 2026) twice every year – June and December. The application process for June session may start soon. However, no official announcement to this has been made yet. But looking at the trends of the last years, it is being estimated that the registration portal may become active in April 2026. Candidates should regularly visit the official website for accurate information and updates. It is advisable to keep visiting.

Last year, the application portal for UGC NET June session was activated on 16 April. The application process was continuing till May 12. The last date for Fri payment was 13 May 2025. The examination was conducted from 25th to 29th June. The application process for UGC NET June session 2024 started from April 20. Candidates were given a chance to fill the form till May 10.

On the basis of UGC NET result, admission of candidates is done for PhD programs in various universities and colleges across the country. Apart from this, this score is also used for award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment of Assistant Professor. The examination was conducted for 85 subjects in the December 2025 session.

These documents will be required

  • Scanned photograph and signature
  • Masters Degree/Graduation Certificate/Last Year Marksheet
  • Caste Certificate/EWS Certificate
  • UDID/PwBD certificate
  • Government Identity Card (such as Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID Card, Ration Card)
  • Valid email ID and mobile number
  • Address Details

Who can apply?

For UGC NET, Masters degree should be with 55% marks. The minimum marks for SC/SC/OBC-NCL/PwBD/PwD candidates is 50%. Students in the final year of post graduation can apply. However, for them the UGC NET result will be provisional. Students with 4 year graduation degree in relevant stream will also be eligible to apply, minimum marks should be 75%. Students studying in the final semester or final year of these programs can also apply. No maximum age limit has been fixed.
