In a shocking incident in Alwar, Rajasthan, a wife and her lover have been implicated in a conspiracy to murder her husband, a bank officer. The police investigation has unveiled audio recordings, threatening letters, and a demand for 5 million rupees, making this case particularly sensational.
The accused wife, Archana Arora, and her lover, Rishabh Sharma, were arrested by the NEB police station team. Following their arrest, the court placed Archana in judicial custody, while Rishabh was held for one day on police remand. The victim, Karnav Khatri, was only 32 years old and had filed a complaint against Archana on March 7, 2026. They were married in 2018 and have two young children. Archana, aged 30, hails from Govindgarh, and Karnav served as a regional head at a private bank in Jaipur.
Archana frequently visited Jaipur to meet her husband, often using Rishabh's taxi for transportation. Over time, their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship, leading to an affair. They became so enamored with each other that they plotted to eliminate Karnav to start a new life together.
According to the police complaint, Archana left home with Rishabh on September 7, 2025, taking their young son along and stealing 500,000 rupees in cash and valuable jewelry. Although she briefly returned home, she soon went back to Rishabh. On February 8, 2026, Rishabh threatened Karnav via a WhatsApp call, and in March, he attempted to murder Karnav while transporting him in a taxi. Karnav provided the police with audio evidence of the threats and conspiracy.
On December 22, Archana filed a rape case against Rishabh with the help of her family but later retracted her statement. Allegedly, after Rishabh was imprisoned, Archana sent a threatening letter to Karnav, demanding 5 million rupees. The letter warned that if the money was not paid, both Karnav and his mother would be killed, and their children would be sent to an orphanage. The letter instilled fear in Karnav and his mother. The police are now conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, interrogating both suspects to uncover more details about the conspiracy.
