The IPL betting case in Indore has once again shown how fearless criminals have become. This time it reached its limits when the bookies were sitting right in front of the police station and placing bets.
When the police took action, what came to light shocked everyone. Lakhs of rupees in cash and transactions worth crores came to light in this betting game going on inside the car. This incident has created an atmosphere of discussion in the entire city.
According to the information, police had received information in Vijaynagar police station area of Indore that some people are running IPL betting. When the team reached the spot, they found that the accused were betting online through mobile while sitting in the car. The most shocking thing was that this entire game was going on in front of the police station.
The police took immediate action and caught both the accused. Investigation revealed that both the accused were residents of Neemuch and were associated with this betting network for a long time.
When the police searched the car, Rs 10 lakh in cash was recovered from there. Along with this, six mobile phones were also found, through which betting was being played. The biggest revelation came when the mobile phone of the main accused was examined. A transaction worth about Rs 1 crore was found in it.
During interrogation, the accused told that he had received a link through Telegram. Through that link he downloaded an app and created his ID. After this he started betting online easily and gradually started earning lakhs of rupees. This method is increasing rapidly nowadays, where people join betting networks through social media and messaging platforms.
The accused had also taken a rented house in Mahalaxmi Nagar to escape from the police. From there he was running his network and whenever needed, he would go to different places and place bets. Even on the day of the incident, both the accused had come to buy liquor while betting, when the police got information and they were caught on the spot.
IPL betting is no longer limited to just big cities, but has also reached small towns and villages. Due to online platforms, it has become more dangerous because it is difficult to get caught.
Police have arrested both the accused and started investigating their network. Now efforts are being made to find out who else are involved in this betting gang and how big is this network. Police say that soon this entire case will be revealed and other accused will also be arrested.
