From corruption to nepotism… Amit Shah lashed out at DMK in Tamil Nadu

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a road show in Modakurichi assembly constituency of Tamil Nadu on Sunday (April 19). During this, he fiercely targeted the state's ruling party DMK, accusing it of corruption and nepotism. Along with this, he appealed to the public to give victory to BJP candidate Kirtika Shivkumar with a huge majority.

In his address, Amit Shah accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government of corruption and said that our government will end the corruption of DMK. He expressed confidence in the formation of NDA government in the state.

DMK accused of dynasty politics

Targeting the DMK leadership, Shah accused him of dynastic politics. He said 'M.K. Stalin wants to make his son (Udayanidhi Stalin) the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. First M. Karunanidhi, then Stalin and now his son. This game of nepotism will never prove good for the people of Tamil Nadu.

Shah lashed out at DMK and Congress on the issue of women's reservation.

On the issue of women's reservation, Shah accused DMK and Congress of hindering progress. He said, 'Congress and DMK stopped women from coming to Parliament and also rejected the increase in seats in Tamil Nadu'. He said, 'We assure on behalf of PM Narendra Modi that we will do justice to the women of Tamil Nadu and India and will foil the plans of Congress and DMK'.

'We will improve law and order in Tamil Nadu'

Shah further said that the NDA along with All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will form the alliance between Edappadi K. Will come to power in the state under the leadership of Palaniswami. He said, 'We are confident that we will form the NDA government here with AIADMK under the leadership of Edappadi Palaniswami. He also said that the alliance will improve the governance system. He said, 'We will improve law and order in Tamil Nadu. We pledge to bring back the lost prestige of Tamil Nadu under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

Voting will be held on 23 April

Talking about Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, voting will be held in a single phase on April 23 in the state and counting of votes will take place on May 4.
The main contest is likely to be between the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (which includes Congress, DMDK and VCK) and the AIADMK-led NDA (which has BJP and PMK as its allies).
