A case of death of a woman has come to light in a hotel located in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. Investigation so far has revealed that the woman had stayed in the hotel with a friend for the last three days. The friend told that late at night the woman’s body was found hanging. Police say that prima facie the case appears to be a suicide. However, investigation is being done from various aspects.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Bhavana Sharma. She was a resident of Nandragram, Ghaziabad. The incident took place at Tathagata Hotel in Sarai Lakhansi police station area. She had been staying in the seven hotels of her friend Shakti Singh, resident of Panipat, for the past few days.
Mau police said that Bhavna Sharma was living with her estranged husband Shakti Singh for the last eight months. Both had earlier gone to Siliguri in West Bengal. Mau came from there. Here Bhavna took a dreadful step.
During police interrogation, Shakti Singh told that he had gone to Banaras on Saturday for some work. Meanwhile Bhavna calls him and asks him to return soon. He also threatened to take wrong steps. On returning late at night, he saw that Bhavna’s body was hanging in the hotel room.
CO Krishna Rajput said that in the initial investigation the case seems to be a suicide. The body has been sent for post-mortem. The forensic team has collected evidence from the spot. The hotel employee and Shakti Singh have been detained for questioning. The relatives of the deceased have been informed. The matter is being investigated from various aspects so that the reason can be found out.
