Airtel Tariff Hike 2026: If you are an Airtel user then your pocket money is going to increase. Airtel has increased the price of its most popular plan. The company has made changes in its 84 day plan and has now reduced the Rs 859 plan to Rs 899. Apart from this, the company has completely removed the Rs 799 plan. This change will have a direct impact on the pockets of the users. It is believed that this could be the beginning of tariff increase.

Which plans became expensive and ended?

Airtel has made a big change in its prepaid plans falling in the range of Rs 700 to Rs 800. Earlier, there were two plans in this segment of Rs 799 and Rs 859, which came with a validity of 84 days. In these, users got the option of 1.5GB or 2GB daily data. Now the company has completely removed the Rs 799 plan. The price of Rs 859 plan has been increased to Rs 899. After this change, now the entry level plan starts from Rs 899 for 84 days validity, which has directly increased the expenses of the users.

What will you get in the Rs 899 plan?

In Airtel's Rs 899 Truly Unlimited plan, users get unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and 1.5GB data per day. The validity of this plan is 84 days. After the daily data is exhausted, the internet speed reduces to 64 Kbps. Along with this, facilities like 12 months access of Adobe Express Premium, spam call alert and free Hellotune are also being provided. However, the cashback reward available in the earlier Rs 859 plan is no longer visible in this new plan, due to which some benefits have been reduced.

What will be the impact on users and market?

This decision of Airtel will directly impact those users who take long term plans. Now for 84 days validity, you will have to spend at least Rs 899, which will increase the monthly expenditure. Experts believe that this could be the beginning of tariff increase and soon other plans may also become expensive. Apart from this, companies like Jio and Vi can also make similar changes, because earlier also telecom companies have been updating plans according to each other. In such a situation, mobile users may have to face more expensive recharge in the coming time.
