McDonald's is set to introduce a major menu shakeup in a week from today, reintroducing once-popular items. However, this means that other things will disappear from the menu, including a dish that fans considered 'healthier' than others. The new menu will not feature wraps with grilled tikka chicken, sweet chilli chicken, BBQ chicken and bacon or grilled chicken and bacon salads.
However, there will be new additions to the menu for Brits to try. The new menu will once again feature the Double Big Tasty, the Big Tasty, and the spicy McCrispy. To make way for new items, existing offerings are regularly cut and replaced. The cheesy garlic bread dippers and the cheesy garlic bread dippers sharebox, for example, will also disappear from the menu from next week. Also leaving the menu is the Mini Egg McFlurry, the Creme Egg McFlurry and the iced latte. But many fans will be sad to see the disappearance of some of the restaurant's wraps.
Fitness fanatics have praised the range of wraps as a healthier alternative to many McDonald's items over the past few months. One online fitness influencer, Ryan Mercer, said the grilled chicken wraps were the highest-protein meal he could get from the fast-food chain.
"In the UK & ROI we can also get pretty decent chicken salads," he wrote in a recent Facebook post. Meanwhile, one foodie influencer, Becca Eats Everything, shared her delight when the wraps landed on UK McDonald's menus.
One dismayed customer told The Sun: "Grilled chicken was my favourite food, it made me feel like I was eating healthily, despite being in McDonald's. I can't be the only one thinking that this is a huge mistake. I'll be off to Subway."
McDonald's said: "We understand this may be disappointing for some."
However, it's good news for McDonald's fans eager to try something new. On Monday, April 27, the chain will be introducing a "range of exciting breakfast items", including a makeover of their iconic Sausage and Egg McMuffin.
