The UK is set to see a spell of warmer weather and you can check now if your area will be impacted. With summer weather on the way, temperatures are set to rise with a "mini-heatwave" in just weeks.

On May 3, some areas will see up to 21C with maps for the south of England turning yellow - indicating heat. Maps show around 18C to 21C will be seen across Dover, Brighton, Deal and Kent.

The warmer climates will stretch up to the midlands with Birmingham, Nottingham and Coventry to see between 16C to 18C.

Wales looks to be cooler with 12C to 14C while Cornwall will see 14C to 17C.

In Scotland, temperatures will range from 11C to 16C.

As for Northern Ireland, maps again show cooler conditions from 13C to 14C.

Another map for Sunday May 3 at 12 noon shows dry conditions will be seen in the south of England.

Despite the warmer weather, maps still show some rain will make its way across the UK.

A small patch of rain is shown around Scarborough and up towards Newcastle.

There will also be some scattered rain across the Scottish Highlands but for large parts of the UK, the warmer weather will be accompanied by dry conditions.

A forecast by the Met Office says: "High pressure is likely to be centred close to or across the UK through much of this period, so many places will be largely dry with clear or sunny periods.

"Some showery rain may affect northern and western parts this weekend though.

"Colder air will also try to push into the country from the north this weekend but will probably only briefly make limited progress into the northeast, where it could bring a short-lived showery interlude, some of these wintry."

It says that winds will be mostly light, but briefly stronger in the northeast as the colder air tries to come south.

It adds: "Temperatures will probably be near or slightly above normal for many, but with a risk of colder conditions affecting the north or more especially the northeast this weekend."
